My first published article was about the spiritual dimensions of panic disorder.  It appeared in Q-News magazine, a European Islamic journal.  Other articles followed, including one in Azizah magazine and several in The Current newspaper, including an award-winning feature on the loss of civil liberties under the Bush administration.

I liked the feeling of being published, but since I was hard at work researching and writing Sophia’s Journal, I set my pen loose and began publishing my own blog – http://sisteronamission.blogspot.com - which allowed me to wax philosopical or political or just plain ticked off about whatever topic was on my mind at the time.  Around this time I also had some poetry publihed in the Islamic Writers Alliance anthology Many Voices, One Faith.  ( http://islam-talk.com/b8531.html )

After SJ came out I was blessed to have a short story accepted by Damazine (The Literary Journal of the Muslim World).  It’s called Carnage and you can read it at http://Damazine.com .

When I moved to Damascus I also started a light, fun blog about life in the Middle East.  It’s at http://prairieheartofdamascus.wordpress.com .

I’m currently trying to sell another short story – this one with a secular audience – and am also researching my second novel.  No hints yet, sorry.  But keep checking back.  The outline is coming together.
